Frequently asked questions

Who can join NAWEM as a member?
NAWEM welcomes women entrepreneurs across Malaysia who own and run their businesses. Ordinary or Life Member eligibility requires being a major shareholder in a company (min. 2 years old) making policy decisions and managing daily operations, or a CEO actively running the business for at least two years. Sole proprietors or employees can join as Friend of NAWEM (FON). Non-Malaysians may apply as FON members.
What are the membership fees?
Ordinary: RM100 one-time registration + RM200 annual. Life: RM100 registration + RM2,000 one-time, no annual fees thereafter. FON: RM100 registration + RM100 annually. Ordinary members with 3 years tenure can upgrade to Life membership.
What benefits do I receive as a NAWEM member?
Members connect with influential women entrepreneurs across diverse industries. Benefits include access to local and international events, training programmes, workshops and business activities; engagement with industrial leaders, ministry heads and government agencies; overseas business delegations; advertising to fellow members; and promotion through NAWEM minisites.
How do I apply for NAWEM membership?
Apply online via the membership application form. Required documents: business card (front/back), identification card (both sides), one passport-sized photograph, and relevant business documents. After verification and Executive Committee approval, an invoice is sent for online payment. Once paid, membership is confirmed and the Members Portal becomes accessible.
What's the difference between FON and Ordinary membership?
FON members enjoy all NAWEM services and can participate fully in activities, events and networking, but cannot vote or stand for office. Ordinary members have full voting rights and can serve in leadership roles. FON suits sole proprietors or employees in management; Ordinary is for business owners meeting shareholding/management criteria.
